Comfortable loose-fitting clothes like tracksuit bottoms or leggings, and ideally strappy top to allow access to the area we will be working on.
You may need to dress down further, if your injury requires it, but that will be advised during the consultation.
Your Osteopath will sit down with you and take a full medical case history, discussing your reason for seeing us and delving into your past history of injury & illness, to create a picture of how your injury has occurred.
You will then be taken through a standing examination, active movements and any specialist testing or provocation testing required to identify the route cause of your pain or imbalance.
The working diagnosis will be discussed and the treatment proposal will then be outlined for you.
If you are happy and it is deemed safe to treat you, your first treatment will occur immediately.
You will be reassessed at the end of your treatment and given your prescribed homework and details of how to book your follow up appointment.
The number of treatments will depend on the severity of your injury, the length of time it has been allowed to build into pain and how well you follow your prescribed rehabilitation.
Our aim will always be to see you as little as medically safe and give you control of managing your injury.
We want to teach you how to look after yourself.
